Kuala Lumpurs must do’s

Kuala Lumpur was a surprising Asian delight that included the added bonus of meeting up with my family half way across the world! It was a fantastic few days and we miss everyone already – thank you so much for showing us some great sights Auntie Tarnia, Uncle Tim, Jack and Harry!

If you’re planning on visiting Malaysia’s capital here is a list of our favourite activities in the city, enjoy!

Our KL top 10 must do’s!

1 – Petronas Towers (obviously) – a cheeky selfie is needed outside and catch a lift to the top. The views will be worth it – even if it is a cloudy day 😉

2 – Food – Hawker centers are fantastic for local food at a good price. Our favourite was Lot 10 for Chinese food, the Central Market also has a great food court upstairs. Jalan Alor is great for street food, especially in the evenings when it comes alive!

3 – Foot massages in China town – Head down to the Main Street where you’ll be greeted by lots of friendly faces ready to give your feet a squeeze!

4 – Night life – My cousins loved this street – Changkat Bukit Bintang – fancy a vibrant night out with plenty of bar and drink options, this is the place to go! In the mood for something more chic? Head to the Heli bar for a rooftop view (abandoned helicopter pad) of the whole city. Aim for a 6pm arrival as it can get pretty busy! ( Uncles top tip )

5 – Islamic Arts museum – a beautiful collection of middle eastern arts and architecture, other options include the National textile museum and National museum.

6 – Religious sites – KL is a hot pot of religious sites with Sri Mahamariamman Hindu Temple and the National Mosque of Malaysia being beautiful places to visit.

7 – Central market – great place for a cheap souvenir as well as work by local artisans. Go get your barter on!

8 – Selfie outside the KL statue – A great tourist attraction for everyone! Located outside Kuala Lumpur City Gallery.

9 – Love manga? – Head to Chinatown for all the manga comic books you possibly dream of! Head to Jalan Sultan.

10 – Botanical gardens – great space to walk around ( avoid the midday heat ) with options to head to the butterfly farm and bird park – Taman Burang.
